The Story

The story revolves around the World Village Cricket Cup Finals
being played between the two communities of Gully Bank and reigning
champions Midfield at the Midfield Oval.
This year’s competition is a tight one – and it is
possible that Midfield could lose. Miss Charlotte, Midfield’s
matriarch must encourage the team led by her grandson Jeffie in
the face of Gully Bank’s unexpected performance. Matters
are further complicated by an area of the field known as Tall
Grass over which hangs an air of mystery. What is in the Tall
Grass? Everyone wants to know, but no one is brave enough to find
out. As if that was not enough, along comes Khaki Dawg, a canine
the likes of which no one has ever seen, whose purpose it seems
is to annoy the keeper of the Book of Cricket Rules – Mr.
Rule Book. Then there is Mama Bling, Gully Bank’s leader
and her daughter Rhinestone who has eyes only for Jeffie.
Pressure mounts on Midfield as the closing Overs draw near, how
will it end? Who will win and who will lose? And while we’re
at it, will the missing box of cricket ball-dem be found? For
answers to these and other questions, the appeal goes up HOWZZAT!
