The
Story
In Jangah Bay, the people live by fishing for the Jangah (crayfish). The harvest is sometimes good, sometimes bad. While others are content, some want more. Alexander Letov (President of the Fisherman’s Co-op) decides that the solution to the problem is to lift the ban on Jangah fishing during the “voluntary closed season”. His allies in this venture include Scientist (the disillusioned scholar); Submarine (the village drunk) and Prento (the low-intellect buffoon), who make up the Domino Crew. Letov is opposed by Miss Mae, upstanding citizen of the community who has recently returned from the UK after a long stay. Other prominent members of community include Joshie (the pastor), who is the provider of supplies for the fishermen; Danny, Joshie's progressive young son; and Angie, Miss Mae’s daughter who is a staunch enviromentalist who has just gained a degree in environmental studies and returned to revolutionise Jangah Bay. But a misunderstanding soon arises between Miss Mae and Joshie and the young people are forbidden to have anything to do with each other. However, they’re smart enough to see beyond their parents' feuding. A crisis develops as Letov and his crew joined by the villagers head for King Jangah’s headquarters to capture the 500 pound monarch and enrich their take. They underestimate King Jangah’s powers and soon find themselves in deep trouble. Further the young people join Joshie and Miss Mae (who had a connection to King Jangah through a messenger called Crabbie) and defeat Letov and company and preserve the harmony of Jangah Bay. And so all ends well with celebrations - including a wedding.
